United State of Pop 2008
This isn’t anything new I’m posting, but it’s new to me. DJ Earthworm, for last years Billboard 25 Hits of the Year. The tracklist includes Flo Rida, Chris Brown, Ne-Yo, Lil Wayne, Katy Perry, and a ton of others. Hit the jump for a list of the songs mashed up in the video.
New Paramore Single
I’m going to be honest and say I’m not the biggest punk rock fan. But for all of you Paramore fans out there, here’s the latest single off Brand New Eyes. If you’re looking for a break up song that helps you vent out all that anger, this might be the song for you. The album drops September 29.
New! Cobra Starship Ft. Leighton Meester – Good Girls Go Bad
I decided that Sick Tingz really needs a bit more variety. Variety in music, topics, and so on, because not everybody likes rap and hip-hop, and a little bit of indie stuff. So consider this my first “different” post. This one’s from Cobra Starship featuring Leighton Meester, from Gossip Girl. The song “Good Girls Go Bad” is supposed to hit iTunes next Tuesday. I’m not a huge fan of Cobra Starship, but this song’s not bad, electronic-y, rock-y, punk-y. Check it out.
Introducing: A Day Overdue
You know when you find a really unknown band that’s from the other side of the world, and you’re just amazed that they’re not as big as they should be? Well, that’s basically how I felt when I came across the Scottish based band A Day Overdue. The 5-man group currently plays local shows and only has a few songs written, but they’re definately worth checking out. If you like them, here’s their Myspace.
New Green Day Released!
I have to say I’ve been dissapointed with the recent Green Day releases from their upcoming album 21st Century Breakdown, but I must say I was a little releived when I heard their latest release “Lights Out”. The song really takes you back to classic Green Day, and it’s one I can say I enjoyed. Their other latest song “Hearts Collide” is decent, and deserves a listen.

New Black Lips & GZA!
It turns out that the Atlanta based punk band Black Lips jam with one of Hip-Hop’s legends and Wu-Tang member GZA. Their latest release “The Drop I Hold”, gives the usual Black Lips phychedelic sound, with a pretty sick verse by GZA.
New Sum 41!
Sum 41 released their best of album yesterday, titled All the Good Shit: 2000 – 2008 and, with it, released a new single “Always”. I’ve always been a Sum 41, Blink 182 lover, so I was pumped. I gave it a listen, and I like it. It’s classic Sum 41, definitely check this one out, the more I listen, the more I like it.
